Witches - The Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton

Wet wet witches
Nov 21 2008
Marti Pellow, former lead singer of Wet
Wet Wet, continues his reinvention as a star of music theatre when The Witches
of Eastwick comes to the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, next week.
He plays Darryl Van Horne, the role
associated with Jack Nicholson from the 1987 film which was first played by Ian
McShane in the stage musical in 2000.
John Updike’s 1984 novel tells of three
housewives in a small American town who become witches after their husbands
leave them – and get more than they bargain for when they wish for the man of
their dreams.
Updike has recently published a sequel,
The Widows of Eastwick. Would anyone bet against film and stage musical versions
of that in a year or two?
The Witches of Eastwick comes to the
Grand from Tuesday to Saturday as part of a 27-date tour which also brings it to
Birmingham Hippodrome from April 6-11.
