Marti at the Cheltenham
Jazz Festival, 7th May, 2007
May Day Bank Holiday saw Marti
taking part in his first Jazz Festival. The venue was Cheltenham Town Hall and
the show was a sell out! The audience appeared to be made up mostly of jazz
aficionados who were suitably impressed, giving Marti a fantastic reception and
a standing ovation!

Marti really was on top form,
sounding better than ever and his humour had the audience in stitches!
The set list was the same as the
previous jazz gigs but the audience were treated to an extra song - I'm Glad There Is You
In A Sentimental Mood
A Child Is Born
You Don't Know What Love Is
You Must Believe In Spring
I Got You Under My Skin
Summer Wind
Lonely Girl
Take A Letter Miss Jones
Where Or When
Lady With The Mandolin
I'm Glad There Is You
Tell Me All About It
When The World Was Young

Once again Marti was backed by a
very talented group of musicians -
Jim Watson - piano
Antony Kerr - vibraphone
John Parricelli - guitar
Jeremy Brown - bass
Chris Dagley - drums
Hugh Wilkinson - percussion
Jim deserves a special mention
as his playing was incredible and the banter between him and Marti made for
quite a formidable double act!

Marti said that he has recorded
a jazz album but didn't say if or when it would be released. The show was over
far too quickly. It seemed that Marti had thoroughly enjoyed himself as had his
audience!

Many thanks to Diane McLean for
