MARTI PELLOW EXTENDS
Marti Pellow, who stars as ‘Billy Flynn’ in the smash hit West End musical CHICAGO at the Adelphi Theatre, has extended his engagement until 16 November 2002 due to critical and box office demand.
As front man for Wet Wet Wet in the eighties and nineties, Marti Pellow had 12 British Top Ten hits including three No 1 single: “With A Little Help From My Friends”, “Goodnight Girl” and “Love is All Around” from the movie “Four Weddings and a Funeral”’ Since leaving Wet Wet Wet in 1999, Marti has enjoyed a very successful solo career and played a sell-out UK tour, including the Royal Albert Hall. His first solo album “Smile” was released last year, giving Marti yet another Top Ten hit with “Close to You”.
Anita Louise Combe, Anna-Jane Casey, Paul Rider and Chrissie Hammond continue in their roles of ‘Roxie Hart’, ‘Velma Kelly’, ‘Amos Hart’ and ‘Mama Morton’ respectively.
Anita Louise Combe previously played the role of Betty Shaeffer in Sunset Boulevard (Adelphi Theatre), a role she re-created in Toronto and Vancouver. For the Canadian premier production she was nominated for a Dora Maver Moore Award and a Jessie Richardson Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Anita also played the leading role of Stephanie Mangano in the world premier production of Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium). She was recently nominated for the People’s Choice Award for her portrayal of The Actress in Hello Again (Bridewell Theatre).
Anna-Jane Casey returns to CHICAGO after s successful run as Velma Kelly in 2000. Her West End credits include Rumpleteaser in Cats (New London), a two year run in Starlight Express – playing Buffy, Dinah and Pearl - the original casts of Children of Eden (Prince Edward Theatre) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium) and Grease (Dominion Theatre). Anna-Jane was also directed by Arthur Laurents in the national tour (and subsequent West End transfer) of West Side Story, playing the role of Anita.
CHICAGO opened in London on 18 November 1997 to rave reviews and immediately became a sell-out hit. CHICAGO won the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for “Outstanding Musical Production” as well as the 1998 Critics Circle Drama Award for “Best Musical”.

CHICAGO plays at the Adelphi Theatre from Mondays to Thursdays at 8.00pm with Friday performance at 5.00pm and 8.30pm and Saturday performances at 300pm and 8.00pm. CHICAGO is booking until 30 March 2003 with ticket prices ranging from £15.00 - £40.00.
