Marti was asked to appear in the hit musical "Chicago" after the producers saw him appearing at the Royal Albert Hall in aid for The Teenage Cancer Trust. He made his West End debut on 10th June 2002. He was signed up for 15 weeks but was such a huge success that his run lasted for 5 months!

He played the role of the lawyer, Billy Flynn and before long, you would think that the part had been created for him!
As his run in Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre came to an end, his second album Marti Sings The Hits Of Wet Wet Wet And Smile was released. During 2003, Marti toured with Chicago, taking the show to Manchester, Liverpool, Dublin, Tokyo and Birmingham. The shows proved to be so popular that extra matinees were added in both Liverpool and Birmingham. Chicago broke box office records at the Liverpool Empire in May, that was mostly due to Marti's amazing performances!
Marti resumed his role as Billy Flynn in the West End for a limited season in 2004. He was due to stay in the role until 19th June but that was extended by one week, due to popular demand! It is clear to see that Marti is really enjoying this role and he plays it with so much confidence!
On 2nd August 2004, Marti made his Broadway debut at the Ambassador Theatre. He was hugely successful!

Following straight on from Broadway, Marti took the show to Glasgow. The reception that he got there was amazing with sell out shows and extra matinees being added due to public demand! The tour moved on to the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton then the New Theatre, Oxford!
Following a hugely successful tour with Wet Wet Wet in December 2004, Marti returned to his role as Billy Flynn the following January at the Manchester Opera House.
Nearly all of the shows were sold out shortly after the tickets went on sale! In February the show moved to the Royal Centre, Nottingham and once again received rave reviews! In March, Marti ended his run as Billy at the Edinburgh Playhouse!
