Blood Brothers.
Tuesday, 1st November was Marti's opening night at the Phoenix Theatre in London's West End! He is superb in the role of the Narrator!! This is a very different role for Marti, not as much singing as in his previous roles but he is on stage for most of the show and he has a FAB Liverpudlian accent!! It really is a fantastic show and well worth seeing!!

TO STAR IN THE WEST END’S
‘MUSICAL FOR ALL TIME’
MARTI PELLOW, one of Britain’s great music icons, is to make his hugely anticipated return to the London stage, joining Willy Russell’s smash hit musical, one of the longest running in history. From TUESDAY 1 NOVEMBER 2011, Marti will join the West End cast of BLOOD BROTHERS as The Narrator at the Phoenix Theatre, for a limited season.
Brit and Ivor Novello Award winning singer songwriter MARTI PELLOW joins the cast of Blood Brothers fresh from an 8 month UK tour playing the title roles in the hit musical Jekyll and Hyde. Having worked closely with some of the world’s most important musical composers such as Sir Tim Rice and Leslie Bricusse, Marti has built a highly successful theatre career starring in the West End, on Broadway and on National Tour in the smash-hit musicals Chicago and The Witches of Eastwick, and co-starring with Josh Groban in the TV and film special Chess in Concert. He also starred alongside Russell Brand, Morwenna Banks and Miranda Hart in the TV show The Abbey and was also very proud to have worked with Gil Cates at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Marti first came to the attention of the British public as the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet, one of the most successful and highly acclaimed bands in British pop history. As both a solo artist and with Wet Wet Wet, Marti has had consistent chart-topping multi-platinum albums, with over 25 chart hits and three of the UK’s biggest number one singles, including Love is All Around which continues to be one of the top five highest selling singles and most played songs of all time in the UK. Marti’s latest solo album Love to Love, recorded for his own label, has become one of the biggest selling independent records of 2011.
Blood Brothers has been running in London’s West End since July 1988. In the USA, it has had a record-breaking Broadway run, a hugely successful coast-to-coast tour, and was nominated for seven Tony Awards. Telling the captivating and moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be re-united by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret, the iconic score includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.
